Ask virtually any website owner to name their #1 problem and invariably it comes back to one word - "Traffic!"

How do you get more traffic to your website without breaking the bank?

Well, the most immediate source for website traffic is actually quite simple and it's called "OPT" - Other People's Traffic.

Other people have the targeted website visitors you need right now - you just need to persuade them to funnel some of it your way.

Your mission is to find people who can refer you their traffic either for a flat fee, as a trade for services, for a commission, or on a pay-per-click basis.

The quickest way to find people to refer traffic is to take inventory of who you know (and who they know) that runs a site getting the targeted traffic you need.

After a few emails you know the story.  I know only to well as my email box overflows.  The best investment I have ever made was in my "Delete" button.

 

Just because someone has Guru status, doesn't mean that everything they recommend is good or useful.  In fact, sometimes some of those products can hurt your business and interrupt what you are currently doing.  If you are new to Internet marketing you are anxious to learn as much and as fast as you can.  You want to have the best software available, so you will buy one then a few days latter the next bigger and better deal comes along.

Learn how to write and format a persuasive sales letters.  The sales letter becomes your virtual sales person in internet marketing.  The more clearly you can present the features and benefits of you product or services, the greater your opportunity to make money on the internet. To succeed in internet marketing you need to make sales. In order for your website's visitors to buy from you, they will need to be informed clearly how the product will benefit them or solve a problem they may have. Your sales letter or website must clearly emphasize the key reasons why the visitor must buy the product; and also what they will lose if they do not buy your product.

Since you are interested in Internet marketing, you should believe that anybody who takes actions and puts in true effort can be successful online. However, to be successful, there are some secrets to starting Internet marketing business. First let me tell you from my own experience, in the beginning I fell for all the hype out there on internet marketing. As I wrote in an earlier article I have spent thousands of dollars based on all the great promise of quick money online and click here for the secret to instant success.  A lot of these were lies or half truths.

If you will follow my advise and learn from my mistakes you will become successful with Internet marketing faster and with out wasting a lot of money in the process.  It is a lot easier today to sell product on the Internet.  More people are buying products online than ever before. 
Here are the secrets to starting a successful part time home based business on the internet.


  • To get started you do not have to learn and invest in a lot of technology, books and courses to get started.  There are very successful technology platforms out there that can provide most of this for you.  The one that I have found to be a great product is Simple Money Machines, it eliminates the need for all of the technology and provides the training to get you started and successful much faster.

  • Everyone will tell you, you have to have a product to sell.  So what are you going to sell?  First you have to know what people want to buy before you can decide on what to sell. Unfortunately many people develop a product then try to find people to buy it.  This is backwards.
  • Easiest way to make money is to sell information products.  It does not take a lot of money to start and once up and running you can operate from anywhere. An info business does not require you to have physical products, no inventory, and no employees. The excellent part is you can do this part time from home. Info products Selling your own information products can generate a lot of income; however, it does take a lot more time and knowledge. Information products consits of ebooks, books, reports, newsletter, CDs, DVDs, software, and websites.
  • What I strongly recommend is to start out learning how to sell products online first and generate some money first.  The way to do that is to sell somebody else’s products before doing your own.  Find third party products you are interested in your self and join their affiliate program.  Through affiliate programs you get paid a commission for selling existing, successful products. This eliminates the need to develop your own product and you avoid risks.   You can even do this with out having a website.

There are many people in this world who make entire careers out of exploiting the dreams of the desperate and the gullible. If you want to make money on internet, you have to keep a certain fact in mind. You have probably heard this a thousand times before, but that does not make it any less true; if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

There are many people who say that you can make a lot of money on the internet with little or no effort, but use some common sense. If it were all that easy to make money over internet, wouldn't everyone be doing it by now? What these people are really doing in most cases is trying to scam you out of your money.

The most classic of all scams is the pyramid scheme, and this certainly has found its home in the make money over internet bandwagon as well. It basically works like this. When you get involved in the pyramid scheme, you have to either give money to, or provide some service for, people further up the pyramid. Theoretically, eventually people below you will have to do the same for you, but in reality it almost never gets that far. Usually, in order for a pyramid scheme to pay off by the time it gets to you, millions of people would have to be involved. So much for making money over internet.

Many of the make money over internet ads are a bit less scummy than the pyramid scheme, but not much more likely to succeed. One of the classic ones is the web storefront kit. If you do have a valuable product which not everyone is providing, it is possible to make money over internet, of course, but a lot of companies will sell so-called websites in a box selling generic junk that anyone could get anywhere. Selling incense and candles, cheap jewelry, or other knickknacks is just no way to ever make money over internet, no matter what the product promises you.

Running an internet business is more complicated than you might think, and simply setting up a web storefront does not do anything to help you make money on internet by itself. In order to really make money on the web, you need a business strategy, and hours of work to get everything off the ground and eventually turn a profit.

I am about to reveal the “Secrets” to your ecommerce success, so you don’t want to miss any issues in this series.   • Who do you know to mentor and advise you about running a business and marketing on the Internet?
